Indian Face Massage
Also known as Facial Rejuvination this massage does not involve oils or creams. It is based on the use of important acupressure points on the face and head together with specific massage techniques developed by Kundan Mehta of the London School of Champissage. The intention is to help retard the signs of ageing in a non-invasive way by:
- stimulating blood and lymph flow, so boosting the supply of nutrients and removal of waste,
- freeing constrictions and tension in the facial muscles and connective tissue, helping to smooth out expression lines while also allowing for better circulation,
- stimulating the flow of energy in the meridians running through the head and face, and
- providing complete relaxation so the body’s innate healing and rejuvinating powers can come into play.
The treatment may also help with other issues such as headaches, insomnia and sinus congestion. Because some of the meridians involved affect the digestive system, improvements in problems with digestion have also been reported.
A one-off session can be great just before a special occasion but the general recommendation is to have a course of 6 weekly treatments and thereafter maintenance treatments every four weeks or so. I show you points to work for yourself between sessions - if used for a few minutes every day these help to sustain results achieved by the treatments.
Because the session is extremely relaxing it can also be used as part of a stress relieving programme.
